A man slashed a person in the head with gardening shears in Midtown Wednesday morning, cops said.
The attacker struck at around 5:30 a.m. on Eighth Avenue near West 48th Street, police said.
The victim suffered a non-life-threatening cut on the forehead.
The attacker ran off.
Police described the assailant as about 5-foot-9 and 140 pounds, and said he was last seen wearing a blue jacket, black pants and a gray winter hat.
Cops could not provide more information on the victim, including the person’s age or gender.
Meanwhile, a man was stabbed in the right arm while urinating at East 42nd Street and Lexington Avenue at around 3:30 a.m., police said.
The victim had been drinking at Union Square and took a subway train to Grand Central before he was attacked, according to police sources.
Felony assaults in the Midtown North Precinct, where the attacks occurred, are up 18 percent from the same time last year, according to NYPD data.
Minor assaults, though, showed a slight decrease — down 3 percent from the start of the year through Sunday, compared with the same period in 2020, the data show.
